Description

Caret Down

The dbx 266xs is a compressor/gate designed to give you straightforward dynamic control in live or studio setups. It helps smooth out levels, shape instruments like guitars and drums, and bring vocals forward in the mix, with stereo or dual-mono operation and practical metering for easy use.

From The Manufacturer:

Adding a dbx® 266xs Compressor/Gate to your live sound rig or studio gives you more dynamic control to help create a more polished, professional sound. Having compression in your audio chain gives you the ability to smooth out uneven levels, add sustain to guitars and fatten up your drums. It also makes it easy to bring vocals to the front of your mix - adding greater clarity and making them stand out from the surrounding instruments.

dbx knows compressors...after all we invented them! The 266xs is the latest in a long line of the world's most successful compressors from the inventors of the technology. Its patented Overeasy® compression technology provides smooth and musical performance while the AutoDynamic™ attack and release controls, found only on dbx compressors, puts great sound within easy reach. The 266xs can operate in stereo or dual-mono modes, has true RMS power summing and features quality XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs and outputs. It cuts no corners on visual feedback with gain reduction metering and easy-to-read backlit switches.

Features:

  • Error proof operation to smooth uneven levels, add sustain to guitars, fatten drums or tighten up mixes

  • New gate timing algorithms ensure the smoothest release characteristics

  • Program-adaptive expander/gates

  • Great sounding dynamics control for any type of program material

  • Separate precision LED displays for gain reduction, compression threshold and gate threshold allow quick, accurate setup

  • Stereo or dual-mono operation

Why Purchase From Above AVL?

We LOVE to connect awesome people with the gear they need to make their events happen.

Our team is available via email or phone to help you find the perfect fit, quote it out for your personalized price, and help get it into your hands!

Here's What Our Customers Say:

"Working with David and the [Above AVL] team was one of the best, if not the best, experience I’ve ever had with a purveyor in my lighting career. The entire team was very attentive, they bent over backwards to work within my tight timeline, and they provided a very warm customer service experience before and after purchase. At this point, one might think I’m laying the compliments on a little thick, I am not! [Above AVL] deserves more credit than my little testimonial can possibly translate."

Just wanted to reach out and let you know I received all the packages from you guys yesterday so thank you so much again for all your help with this! You truly saved the day and definitely went above and beyond for us! I will be using you guys for all my future A/V and lighting purchases .Thanks again and have a great weekend!!

6 weeks before our big event date I was given the role of managing our conference’s stage appearance and live streaming visuals. [Above AVL] helped steer me toward a perfect beginners kit of high quality lights that helped me create an even stage wash with enough dynamic uplighting that I could transform the bland hotel conference ballroom into a dance party scene on several nights. If you’re looking for help learning stage and event lighting, put down the search for reliable sources and lean into the wealth of knowledge and positive support these people and everything they’ve created has to offer you. Like myself, you’ll be glad you did.
