Description
The AT-Instrument mic is a really well priced instrument microphone that provides a very clear and full sound. We've used these on a variety of instruments with great success! The Piano model comes with (2) microphones
From the Manufacturer:
If you are someone who is passionate about the piano and takes an interest in all elements to help you become better at your music, then the most important thing to you is to be heard and the AT-INSTRUMENT / PIANO microphone can help you achieve that.
Pianos have been around for several centuries and it was incredibly difficult for the musicians to get their artistry heard. Musicians today are capable of having technological innovations and upgrades to their musical instruments such as the AT-INSTRUMENT microphone.
This microphone is perfect to isolate the sound of your piano and can consequently be used in live performance and in the recording studio.
Each kit includes 2 microphones on gooseneck mounts, 2 microphone cables, 2 XLR adaptors, 2 Magnetic mounts to attach the microphone to the piano, and a convenient storage pouch to secure and protect the system when not in use.
Mounting the AT-INSTRUMENT system to the instrument is easy and intuitive, and just as easy to remove.
Different sounds & tones can be achieved by flexing the gooseneck mounting either towards the sound hole, or away from the sound hole in varying degrees until the optimum sound for your specific use and taste is achieved.
From the GEAR Pro's:
I (David) first purchased this microphone for church use when I had a guitarist who didn't have a pickup built in.
This microphone sounded significantly better than any sound-hole mounted pickups I've heard, and the fact that it's mounted to the instrument made the positioning WAY better. I was thanked afterwards by the guitarist, who loved the fact that she could move freely and not have to worry about being close to the mic.
Then came a variety show I was mixing that had a number of bands performing (loudly) with pretty rockin' stage volumes. A country act showed up to the rehearsal with a violin, and we stuck this mic on it (with the guitar rig, though there is a violin rig available!), and it sounded clear, loud, and I didn't have any problems with feedback. It wasn't harsh, even at pretty high SPL's. I'm going to continue using and recommending this mic to people for pretty much any instrument that you want a GREAT sound out of at a really reasonable price.
