The JBL Control 40CS/T is a direct-radiating, high-impact 8-inch in-ceiling subwoofer with a built-in passive crossover network, enabling it to operate as part of a subwoofer–satellite system. When paired with compatible satellite speakers such as the Control 42C, it delivers extended low-frequency response with high output and low distortion in commercial installations.

It can be used in both low-impedance (8Ω) and 70V/100V distributed systems, making it flexible for a wide range of installed audio applications.
