"Blacklight" is light that sits just under the visible light spectrum, and "blacklight" effect lights can output anywhere from just above 400nm (visible violet light) to the low 300nm's.
This light is perfect for fixed installations in stores, bowling alleys, etc. It's got 18 x 3w LED's that sit in the 397-430nm space - so it's a violet/UV light that provides some UV-type effects with a wide 120 degree beam angle.
