I/O Extender

The ENTTEC I/O Extender is a companion device for the S-PLAY SP1 that expands its physical input/output capabilities with 20 digital inputs, 4 relay outputs, and 2 analog inputs, enabling more complex trigger-driven lighting control in architectural and entertainment installations.

The ENTTEC I/O Extender is designed to work alongside the S-PLAY SP1 (firmware V3 and above), dramatically expanding the number of physical connections available for triggering and controlling lighting shows. Twenty general-purpose digital inputs accommodate sensors, wall switches, buttons, and other contact-closure devices. Four relay outputs handle mechanical devices such as curtains, pumps, winches, or lifts — rated at up to 60W (2A / 50V AC or DC). Two analog inputs accept 0–10V signals from light sensors, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, joysticks, or virtually any analog signal device. All inputs and triggers are managed through the existing S-PLAY web interface, requiring no additional software.

The I/O Extender includes two Ethernet ports (RJ45, 10/100Base-T), allowing it to be used as a dedicated standalone show playback network switch — devices can be connected directly to the I/O Extender's built-in network switch without the need for a separate network infrastructure. Multiple I/O Extenders can be added to a single S-PLAY setup to build a larger, more powerful control network. The unit is configurable via DHCP or static IP and is discoverable through ENTTEC's EMU software. Flexible mounting options include half rack, full rack, and surface mount.
